Just the facts (the correct facts)

You can't always be sure that media will disseminate information correctlySometimes it's intentional, but most of the time it isn't.  People who write news aren't always familiar enough with the subject to know when they aren't correct.

So, report news about your event specifically and accurately and speak with reporters and editorial writers whenever possible.  It may help.

Great points. Answering interview questions by email or following up a telephone interview with email may help too, as then they have the correct information in writing.

It's also helpful to contact the media immediately. If an initial story is reported incorrectly, there is often no follow-up, so people don't learn the correct facts.
