The name game
There are a slew of "Firecracker Runs" and "Freedom Runs" (on the 4th of July, of course), as well as "Turkey Trots" around Thanksigiving time. There are also a number of races named "Run for Health," and "Spring Fling."
But who would have expected several "Bun Runs?" Huntington WV, Austin TX, and Frankfort IN each feature an event celebrating hot dogs (you thought it was something else?), interestingly, a food eschewed by many runners. Seymour WI relishes burgers at its fest.
When selecting a name for your race, pick one that isn't already in use in your area (these races are in different markets). If the one you want is taken, think of another one that will give your event the identity you desire.
It's always better for your event to have a name of its own rather than one it has to share with a neighbor.
