Broken web sites
Yesterday, I came across three races whose web sites were "under construction."
NEVER say that!
It tells visitors what they are not getting, rather than what you have to offer, it gives the impression you haven't planned well, and it does not make them want to return.
It's like throwing a way your old clothes before you buy new ones.
If you already have a web site, design the new one "behind the curtain" and leave the old one up until the new one is ready for posting. If you don't have a web site, you can post a "teaser" with some basic information and the date you will post the new site.
Or, you can just wait for your first web site to launch. You won't be any worse off than you are right now.
