Cool awards
The Gargoyle Gallop 8k, produced by Blue Gargoyle Community Services in Chicago IL, presents gargoyle bookends to overall winners and gargoyle penholder cups to age group winners.
In past years, when the race was larger and could afford it, all winners received gargoyle statuettes.
These awards are unique and memorable and are likely to be displayed by recipients at home or at work. Medals, on the other hand, are often tossed into drawers and never seen by anybody.
