Come out, come out, wherever you are

Why do some races make it so difficult to contact them?  Don't they want more runners?

1.  Print your web site on EVERYTHING.

2.  Post a "contact" button on the home page of your web site.  Don't make runners click through lots of pages to unearth the information.

3.  Post an email link AND a telelphone number.  Don't try to prevent people from contacting you.  Wouldn't it be better to receive lots of calls than no calls?  Besides, if the information you publish is complete, fewer runners will have a need to call.

4. Post a link to online registration and a downloadable entry form.  Nobody should have to call or email to request an entry form.

5. On your printed entry form, list your web site, online registration site (if you have one), a telephone number, email address, and mailing address.

6.  If you print posters, display your web site address.  If you don't have a web site, print your telephone number and email address (and then get a web site for your race).

Always do everything possible to attract runners and enable them to contact you.
