Maps
Satellite photos are being used more often by races when posting course maps.
Photos may not be more helpful than maps or drawings, but they offer a more realistic picture (literally) of the location of the course.
Here's a map for the Two Lovers 8.6m (click "GRC races" on the sidebar) posted by the Guam Running Club, in Tamuning, Guam. Is it better than a graphic image?
