Corporate teams

Crain's Chicago Business, in its May 12 issue, interviewed people who insisted on running, training, and racing, despite injury.  Some of these folks, it turns out, run on corporate teams.

CNA Insurance and Molex Inc., are two of the companies that compete in Chicago area events.  Dozens more sign up for races of all sizes.

When adding team competition to your race, consider a corporate division.  Don't charge an extra team fee (companies don't like that).  The competition may attract more runners than usual because they'll have an opportunity to race as both individuals and team members.

It's one more way to broaden the appeal of the event.
