Tell me about it

It was just a little thing.  But it was very effective.

The Mississippi Valley Running Association, in Dubuque IA, offered a brief description of what runners would experience at its 5k and 10k Trail Run.

"Escape city traffic, street corners, and honking horns" it called out.  It then told runners why they would enjoy the course.

The race only has ten-year age groups (five-year would be better) and ends at 60+.  But if a scenic trail is a greater attraction than an age group award, a runner may opt for it.

Even a small blurb on an entry form or web site can lure the runner with an image of something desireable.

Writing the copy is just a little thing.  But it can make a big difference
