Dog Runs
Dog owners who want to run with their animals can do so at events designed for that purpose.
The Waggin' Trail, in Louisville KY, produced by the Kentucky Humane Society, invites dogs and their owners to participate in a fund-raising run. Skelter for the Shelter, in Nicholasville KY, produced by the Jessamine Humane Society, offers the same format.
Bark in the Park, in Chicago IL, produced by the Anti-Cruelty Society, attracts more than 3,000 runners and their dogs to an untimed, but very popular event.
These events are animal-friendly, raise funds for animal protection, and provide a running opportunity that does not exist at most events.
