Award winning race
The Portland Winter Run, in Portland MI, was selected "Favorite Small Race in the mid-Michigan area" by a poll, sponsored by Playmakers (a local running store) in the Lansing State Journal.
The 5k race, produced by the Portland Running Club, presents awards four-deep in each age group, offers three levels of masters awards, and dishes out vegetarian chili after the race.
A record 322 runners registered to race on a cold, winter day last year. Some people thrive on challenging racing conditions. If you host a race like this one, just be sure to keep your race volunteers warm and dry.
