Staying in touch

Be sure to collect email addresses of race registrants so you can communicate with them throughout the year.  E-broadcasts don't just provide an opportunity to connect with runners, they also allow you to provide important information to participants.

The LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon, in an e-newsletter several days before its event, cautioned runners about the expected humid weather on race day and offered tips about how to deal with it.

Health concerns, course changes, traffic snags, and many other issues can be addressed quickly and inexpensively with e-broadcasts in the days leading up to your event.  Sponsor signings, community support, and participant accomplishments in other events can be promoted year-round.
