Top magazines
The Chicago Tribune's annual list of 50 best magazines listed this year's choices by category. Included in the special interest section were Men's Health and Mountain Bike.
Although running magazines didn't make the list, runners still turn to Runner's World and Running Times (now owned by the same company) for information about training, races, and general running news.
Be sure to place your race listing in the calendar of these magazines as well as the local publication in your area. Check The Running Network for your local running mag. Additionally, many running clubs publish newsletters or small magazines. Find a club on the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) web site.
Even if you can't afford to buy advertising space, be sure to list your event on these race calendars. It's free and is viewed regularly by scads of runners.
