No online registration fees
Runners should not have to pay additional fees to sign up for races online. In fact, races would be wise to offer discounts to encourage online registration. Races that use SignMeUp.com, Active.com, or other online registration sites can and should absorb the fees, and not pass them on to runners. Online registration saves races money. Mail-in applications are more costly, as they require databasing of entry information, and are subject to database errors. Races should do everything possible to drive traffic online, including the offer of financial incentives. Raise the entry fee for mail-in applications, if necessary to lower online fees.
