Racedirector.org is managed by David M. Patt, CAE, former Executive Director of the Association of Running Event Directors and past Chief Executive Officer of the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA). During his 20-year tenure at the two associations, he trained hundreds of directors and managers of races of all sizes, administered an annual series of race competition, and produced the Shamrock Shuffle, the world's largest 8k race.
Since then he has conducted educational sessions and offered individual consultation on race planning, marketing, sponsorship, volunteer recruitment, course management, and event administration.
David is a 27-year association management veteran and long-time volunteer leader. He has utilized his expertise in leadership training, strategic management, marketing, fund-raising, membership recruitment, public relations, and lobbying for public interest groups and membership societies. In 1991, he was named a Certified Association Executive (CAE) by the American Society of Association Executives.
David provides management and consulting services to not-for-profit organizations at Association Executive Management.
